Snow Plow Drivers operate trucks, equipped with snow plows, to clear snow from parking lots, roadways, access points in a safe and efficient manner. Snow Plow Drivers are also required to clear snow in areas inaccessible to snow plows with snow shovels and/or snowblowers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Be available during snow removal operations; frequent and irregular shifts
- Operate snow removal equipment, such as trucks, plows, sanders, snowblowers, and shovels safely and efficiently
- Get in and out of vehicle to inspect site conditions
- Set up, inspect, make adjustments, and perform some maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and machinery; potentially, in inclement weather
- Pre-treat and de-ice roadways and sidewalks
- Work independently with little or no supervision
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
- Follow all policies and procedures related to work safety.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Intermediate knowledge of snow removal procedures
- 4-5 years prior operating experience with industry training and/or certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Regular exposure to severe weather conditions
- Performance of physical activities such as standing, walking, reaching, climbing, repeatedly bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting 50 to 100 lbs.
